The HUG x Aramtec Pastry Competition lit up Expo Culinaire in Sharjah this May 2025, bringing together the region’s most talented pastry chefs for a showcase of artistry and innovation. 

Sponsored by HUG, the renowned Swiss tartelette producer, the competition challenged chefs to push the boundaries of creativity across both sweet and savory categories, making it one of the highlights of the professional culinary calendar.

Taking home top honors this year were Sayanth Edavalathu Kandi of The Royal Atlantis Hotel and Sewwandi Withange of The World Trade Centre, whose exceptional creations earned them an unforgettable prize: a trip to Switzerland alongside Mohammed Salman and Jane Belinda from Aramtec Food Service’s pastry team.

During their visit to Switzerland, September 6-13th, the Dubai team enjoyed an exclusive tour of the HUG factory, explored innovative new products, and immersed themselves in the country’s world-class cuisine and breathtaking landscapes.
